In Grade 3, students are using geoboards to review important geometric terms and concepts.They are also taking part in a role-play activitiy that helps them to learn about character traits and how authors use characters to teach us valuable life lessons.
In Grade 4, the students are solving langauge-based riddles and competing in our second annual "State Debates". There will be a finalist from each class and then an overall Grade 4 Champion. In the process, students are learning a great deal about the various states in our country while also practiciing some important public speaking skills.
In Grade 5, the students are using K'NEX kits to build many different types of bridges. In addition to learning about the various types of construction, they are also learning excellent collaboration skills.
Our Enrichment/GT Pull-Out students are working on planning a Mapleshade newspaper, presenting projects about world problems, creating their own math challenge books, and preparing to write their own short stories for possible publication.
